CALL FOR PAPERS

On the 15th and 16th of April 2004, the Centre for Social Philosophy at the Department of Social and Political Studies at the University of Pavia (Italy) will hold a two-day conference for postgraduate students. This is meant to be a chance for graduate students to gain experience of presenting papers and getting helpful feedback in a friendly atmosphere.

Besides postgraduate papers, there will also be two sessions held by two keynote speakers:
- Professor Peter Jones (University of Newcastle, UK), 'Toleration - who needs it?'
- Professor Gianfrancesco Zanetti (University of Modena, Italy), TBA.

Graduate students who are interested in giving papers should send their contributions (max 2500/3000 words) by 12th February 2004. Contributions are welcome on any area within political philosophy. Presentations should take no more than twenty minutes to allow at least another twenty minutes of discussion. The official language of the conference will be English. Papers may also be submitted in Italian provided an English abstract is attached. All presentations will have to be in English. Please note that the 12th of February is also the deadline for registration for anyone who wishes to attend the conference without presenting a paper.

Conference registration is free of charge. Paper givers (max 10/12 graduates) will be offered accommodation in local university colleges. Accommodation fees and details will be arranged individually. Anyone who wishes to attend the conference without presenting a paper can write to check availability. Details about meal arrangements and conference programme to follow.
